During the last six years, the Film Collection of the State of Baden-Württemberg has become the central film archive of the federal state. The Collection’s stock consists of approximately 3000 films, including many from the first decades of the 20th century.

The huge range of historical footage comprises everything from images of everyday family life, impressions from private holidays and city trips, to film journals of German Soldiers, industrial films or commercials.

On behalf of the Ministry of State and funded by the MFG Film Fund of the State of Baden-Württemberg, the regional film fund, the Collection’s purpose is to accumulate every aspect of social existence that has been recorded on film over the last decades and preserve it for the future.

If requested, we search our database for you and inform you about our conditions (inventory, materials or stock).
